I was raised in Polk County, North Carolina, and from the earliest age I can remember, dirt, trucks, and heavy equipment were simply part of everyday life. By six years old I was already sitting atop dirt piles, helping load dump trucks with an excavator under the guidance of my dad and uncle. When I was finally tall enough to push in a clutch, my uncle put me behind the wheel of a single-axle dump truck, hauling material around the property while they built roads. I spent my childhood in the passenger seat of dump trucks and semis, talking on the CB radio, tracking load counts, and absorbing everything I could. After school I would climb onto whatever piece of equipment was available and dig, push, and shape the land—building trails through the woods and clearing ground simply because I had a vision and wanted to be just like the men I looked up to.

Today I am 30 years old, happily married to my beautiful wife Kayla, and we are raising our little boy Hayden. That early passion never left me. Even when high school sports took more of my time, the goal stayed the same: one day I would own my own hauling and grading company. After graduating, I enlisted in the Army. A series of injuries led to my discharge, and I returned home to the same crossroads many young men face—college or the work that had always felt like home. I chose the latter. I spent years working for other companies as a CDL driver and equipment operator, learning every side of the business. Yet I was never content working for someone else. I am a go-getter by nature. I need purpose, ownership, and the freedom to push myself every single day. Eventually I made the leap, quit my job, and started TLJ Hauling & Grading Inc. It has not always been easy, but I have never looked back.

Today I am proud to lead a company built on the foundation of those early years. TLJ Hauling & Grading Inc. provides reliable dump truck hauling (gravel, dirt, sand, asphalt, and more), grading, land clearing, and demolition services for residential and commercial clients across Western North Carolina and Upstate South Carolina. Whether it is a small residential project or a larger commercial job, my focus remains the same: take a customer’s vision and turn it into reality with honest work, dependable results, and attention to detail that leaves people smiling when the job is done.

I stand on my word. I take pride in the quality of every project and in the trust my clients place in me. What began as a little boy chasing a dream has become a business I am honored to own and grow.
